I'm really happy with my guitar right now, except for the sustain. it ****ing sucks.
is there any sort of pedal i could buy, or an easy adjustment that would increase my sustain?

Gain, vibrato technique.

both work, but vibrato is definitely the winner. also, if your strings are pretty old, change them, that will help. but the vibrato is what will really make it happen.

Vibrato helps a lot. You could also get a compressor/sustainer or something.

umm a set neck will help with sustain.. a string thru bridge does as well

a sustainer pedal

vibrato definitely

new strings

make epic poses while sustaining a note for as long as possible

a nice compressor can help your sustain. you can also add mass to the guitar. supposedly cliping a heavy thing to the headstock can help, and they even make things specifically for that. also, getting a nice nut and saddles can help (as well as helping with tuning stability).

.....Compressor/sustain pedal. Stay away from noise gates.

lol.

EQ pedal wouldn't really help this problem. If you have sustain technique then why are you complaining about sustain.....?

my question as well.

Check your pickup height too

If they are to close it'll choke the hell out of your sustain.

If you want loads and loads of sustain invest in a nice compressor

I'm not familiar with your guitar, never liked Ibanez, but on my ESP/LTD FM100 guitar, I had the Floyd blocked. I can only dive bomb with it , but sustain went up by almost 100%. My Jackson King V is a neck through, so sustain aint a problem with it.

But Zakk's no good anymore.... lol, pinch pinch pinch , ctual note , some more pinches.

Joking.

there's a difference between USING and ENDORSING. It's a common practice to be endorsed by an amp company, yet inside the head is another amp from another company, Krank is a good example.

Pretty much all of Vai's gear is top notch, even down to his keeley modded DS-1

A compressor pedal of somesort would be weet.

Compresser, hardtail guitar, blocked trem, tighter neck joint, vibrato, new strings, a good nut, nice bridge saddles, solid wood body, gain all help with sustain.

The best bang for your buck is an MXR Dyna comp Compressor ($60 new). If you tweak the output and sensitivity, you can even out the difference in the level of your high notes and lows, tweak it differently and you can get ringing sustain even with a Strat. I've even tweaked it so that I get a growling overdrive with my Strat, and have to change it for use with the Les Paul. I like the overdrive tone, it's very ballsy, and the tone leveling helps during quiet passages when you want the overdriven amp sustain available only at high volume levels, but still retain the low level volume.
