Hey guys, iv been playing guitar for a few years now and im looking at upgrading my amp. From what i'v heard, Mesa make a quality amp but i cant afford one of their heads So i was thinking i should get a mesa speaker and a marshall head. Which do you recommend for death/black metal but also jazz and blues/rock? Will this combination serve that purpose well?

Also If the head output is 100w will it work with a 250w speaker? Im all new to this

Thanks

Why not just get a used Mark IV combo?

i like that combination the best, a mesa cab really adds a lot of bottom end and thickness to the marshall tone. I find marshall cabs to be pretty mid heavy,....for death metal and jazz and stuff, id say you want to be able to get soem thick bass for tight chuggin, and mellow smooth riffs, try it out and see how you like it. Im being fairly general, there are so many different types of cabs/speaker combinations for both marshall and mesa, but yaa, mesa cabs are pretty sweet,
