Anyone know of a good cheap distortion pedal for under $100. Something preferably other than the BOSS-DS1. Something that will give me a good hard sound. Or am I dreaming?

Thanks.

Hmm, ProCo Rat2 is pretty cool. Theres a number of boutique effects too, but maybe over $100.. Try the Landmine LD-1 pedal ;-)

Im not really looking for metal but more of a Green Day and or Rob Zombie tone. Would the Boss DS-1 pretty much be my best choice?

no, i had one and it has such terrible tone i threw it out and got a homebrew electronics pedal but thats like 150 dollars. Id say get a muff or something else cus of your price range. also the metal muff will do green day and rob zombie well.

I'm also looking for a cheap distortion (hence the bump)
more suggestions, please XD

I want a versatile distortion that can play from classic rock to metal to crunch. (its ok if it compromises)

Thanks!

I like my Rat Deucetone which is 3 Rats in one. The Big Muff is good, but got a little muddy for me.

Not all of it though. Its very experimental at times. But thanks everyone. I think I will be going with the Metal Muff.
