per the music you favor, i would opt for the ibanez if you like them. i would suggest a 12 string for rhythm guitar.

well the maton electric 12 strings are great, i played one a few months ago. maton is an australian company if you havent heard of them, because i dont know where youre from.

EDIT: i dont think a 12 string would suit your style, especially the maton 12 strings. im sure ibanez would have some.

yeah maton specialise in their acoustics, which imho are the best in the world. best ive ever played anyway. but that 12 string is really nice, i think it was about $1200, the one i played i mean. but its worth it if you can get the extra cash and if you can get one in the states.

EDIT: $1200 AUD i mean.

^No electric 12's in production.

I'd pick up a hard tail Ibanez RG, and work on it. Lots of places to go with one of those.

12 strings, esspecially electric 12 strings, are really more specialized instruments. If you are just going for an all around guitar, then the Ibanez is definately in a better diretion

500-600USD = around 500-600AUD

Ibanez RG350DX is a hottie of aguitar, but from what i read, its junk.. SO theres a lower end ibanez with a floyd rose style that'd need replacing in < a year.

BTW, why either a lower end ibanez, or a 12 string? they're not at all related!
