so i just scored a black cherry schecter hellraiser floyd rose for $400 with case on craigslist....i couldnt believe he would let it go for that but its in perfect shape.....ppl have asked about how good this guitar is on here and it is as good if not better than what ppl have said...action and feel is great and it sounds really really good compared to other guitars that had active pickups in it....but ive already replaced the emg's with a set of blackouts....just have to tune it

I love my Hellraiser.. I got it off an ebay store, Strings and Things Guitar Wholesale. The owner sometimes has factory seconds, meaning there is a small blemish in it, or a scratch or something insignificant like that. So, the Hellraiser FR is $800 but I got mine for $600. Best thing that's happened to me in a long time..

^hey, ive been taking looks at a whole ****load of guitars, the hellraiser fr being one of them, how do you like yours?

God damn do I love it. It is the guitar that has made Schecter my favorite brand hands down. The action is set beautifully, it's as smooth as you could possibly want it, the pickups will catch everything and the deep tone off the EMG's is god awful amazing. Not only that, I only have to tune about twice a month with the FR on it. I play it for jazz and metal daily, there is nothing wrong about this guitar. Even the neck is awesome. It's a set neck but feels like a neck through because of the cutaway they have.

you ever pull off any dimebag squeals with the fr?

I've never really listened to Dimebag. The things I do with the FR are typically in effect of a dive, and sometimes a squeal. Maybe added effects during the verse of a song while playing as a lead. Overall, it is completely worth having the FR

so it doesnt ever go out of tune, pretty much; easy to maintain?

If it goes out of tune it's because I accidentally turn the fine tuners while palm muting. It's easy to maintain once you know how, up until then it is a pain in the ass. It's an extremely well put together system.
#17
do you have to be careful when palm muting not to press down too hard?

I've never really noticed, I'm assuming so. But right from the start with the FR I did make sure not to press more than need be. The adjustment to the FR is really the big issue. My personal play style was to be really rough when palm muting before I got it. Since then I've cooled down a lot. But either way, FR is worth any trouble you have.
