duane allman played an sg given to him by dickey betts, not a les paul. clapton early on was famous for playing gibsons, so even though he's played strats for ages now he hasn't always been that way.

Clapton in the Dominoes era was better than the Cream era, that's why I put him on the strat side.
And Duane Allman played the Les Paul more than the SG, and Dickey played the SG when Duane was alive and then switched to LP's

Duane allman almost always played a LP. He played slide on an SG.

Jimi Hendrix DID play a Les Paul. It was a black beauty custom.


Also, Duane played both Strats and Les Pauls in the Allman Brothers. Dickey played the SG for a long time, but then gave it to Duane for slide parts.

first of all, there is a duane allman les paul in the rock and roll hall of fame
second of all, you act as if a guitar player onlly played one kind of guitar ever
clapton is know for strats, but hes probably played a sh*tload of guitars, and hendrix is also know for strats but he had a flying v!
