my family is very dysfunctional
my life was pretty ****ty.
a while ago i was a little depressed but i figured it out and i have a new outlook on life.
i feel kinda like a new person, i am loving life... its hard to explain, but im feeling great.

so

i want to get a tattoo. but i dunno what to get. i want it to symbolize how good life can be and not taking anything for granted but i just cant think of anything...
any ideas from the pit?
thanks

The Pit will tell you to get a giant phallus across your face, by the way.

a photo of yourself as a young child on your face
or if you wish to remind yourself of, and introduce others to your deceased friend, picture something that he enjoyed, or you enjoyed together, and have a pro noodle with the idea.

*unless it's gay sex*

i had a similiar experience and i got a phoenix on my shoulder. the symbolism is exactly what i was feeling, not to mention it looks pretty kickass.

but whatever you get, make it unique.

on a serious note
I think Japanese characters are cool, and maybe there would be a way to incorporate your friends name
thats what I would do

You could make it totally unique by, instead of getting a Pheonix that is a bird, you could get the skyline of pheonix az.

seriously though, a pheonix is good.

I was in the same boat as you are in now. One of my best friends was shot by an off duty police officer (who was found to be in the wrong) almost two years ago. When I was thinking about a tattoo for him I went with something we both shared, a common bond- music and guitar. He taught me more about why to play music than any other person I can think of. What I got were 6 straight black lines around my left arm to symbolize guitar strings. It's simple enough, but poignant enough that I'll always remember what it means and what he meant to me.

No one can tell you exactly what to get a tattoo of, but if you think of a bond that you both shared, some kind of influence he had on you, it'll help you come up with a concept for a design. When you have your idea, take it to a tattoo artist who can perfect it and make it a truly original and meaningful piece of artwork.
