Hi, I am trying to connect to an ADSL router so as I can play X Box live, but everytime I attemt it says that it failed because it couldnt find the ISP. I have a very limited knowledge of computers, and havent got a clue what this means. Ive also tried to manually find the ISP, but with no luck. Can anyone help me out??

How would I get the proper settings from my ISP? I assume that my internet service provider would be BT because it says connecting to BT broadband when I am connecting to the internet.

Call them and find out how to configure the router?

How are you connected to the internet right now?

I mean, you're on the internet right now...are you using the same router or did they send you a modem or something?

Ok, basically what happened was that I was using a BT modem before. Then I wanted to be able to play X Box live, so my friend gave me his router an a disc to set it up. So I put the disc in and entered all the details etc... and clicked BT as my ISP. Then it said it was connecting and setting up, but it then failed because it could not find my ISP. Ive also tried to do it manually with no luck

Have you connected the Xbox to your router correctly, via Ethernet? Or is it wireless?

Hmm, you have an ADSL router, so you shouldn't need a modem.
