i want to try and deffret my old squire strat, which cost me 300 dollars.
im thinking this:
-Deffrett the guitar(Duh..)
-buy a Humbucker pickup and fit it in the guitar(for better response out of the pickups)

well, will you think ill get a good frettless guitar out of that?
and please suggest me new pickups!

I did it to an old guitar i had, and no idea what fretboard it had, but it wern't very good,
but i filled the gaps with wood filler,
It sounded crap
But then painted the fretboard with wood stain, and it doesn't sound too bad now!

"don't frettless guitars usually have a glass or metal fingerboard?"

^^^ you ok? glass or metal, never heard of it....

why would you defrett a guitar anyways? its pritty much impossible to play any chords w/o frets... unless ofcourse you never play any chords...
