yeah - I I I I IV IV I I V IV I I

it would be cool if you put a turnaround at the end too.

what music genre do you want it to be in?

Out of what i play,i probably handle blues the best...But its for a special event (a hypothetical one) where there migth be royalty etc...so i dont have a clue lol.

Did you type 'Spinal Chords', or go for the whole '____' thing.

If it's the latter, I salute you.

just use a I IV V progression and have an awesome solo and you auutomatically have a more than satisfactory blues/rock song. By the way, minor pentatonic is your friend.

The scale that I find easiest to write in was E Minor Pentatonic. You can do any mash of notes in a coherent stream in that scale and it always comes out good.

I'm doing the same course as you.

Basically, just compose your piece, be it jazz or metal, and declare it for either a birthday or a funeral.

Birthday = Major tonality
Funeral = Minor

The examiners really don't give a sh*t about the occasion, just the composition.

i - III - VII

i.e. two measures of A minor, C major, G major. Boom. One of my favorites for acoustic songs and such.

True,plus,its my music teacher whos making it,so its even better lol. Also,this song is in for Thursday,and i have a performance on Wednesday,so i could play the same thing,because the music teacher isnt in on Wednesday,so in theory,i could play that without him knowing,and people wouldnt know it was my composition either!!!

You could always go with the classic: 6 4 1 5. It's every song ever!

play the freebird chords in reverse order? That would be like D-C-F-Em-D-G
