Okay, I'm planning to buy a new electric and amp (in the very far future, probably in the summer, but I'm looking around already, as guitarists always are).

I found two guitars that I really like:

- Gretsch Electromatic 5120 (in orange stain)
http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G5120&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1

- Fender Standard Fat Strat (in black, and I'd like to install a black pickguard)
http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0134702332

So, what do you guys think of these? (I play lots of stuf: rock, soul, blues, reggae, pop,.. So I need a good overdriven tone as wel as a great clean sound)

Also, I need/want a new amp (preferably valve). Do you know some good valve amps under €1000? I was thinking about the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, a Peavy (Classic 30 or Delta Blues), or the Vox AC30 CC1... It needs to be cheap, with enough volume for gigging (at least 30W).

fender deluxe reverb (it's 22 watts but loud enough for small gigs anyway, it's a fender so great cleans, and nice OD when cranked too)
vox ac30 (nice cleans and great OD)
ceriatone JTM45/bluesbreaker (glassy cleans and very good OD when cranked)

'bout the guitars, those are quite different actually so i'd try em both out, see what you prefer, they're so different that you have to prefer one of the two.

If you can get the AC30CC1 for a similar price as the HRD or C-30, you should jump all over it. It's the best amp of the ones you're looking at, by far. Next up would be the Delta Blues followed by the C-30.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
