Budget of about 150...which would be my best route? Echo Park, Digidelay, DD-3...I've heard good things of the EHX echo...

The AD-9 is good, no doubt, but the delay times are all pretty short.

Id look into Boss, Line 6, and some used TC Electronic models.

depends on what you want. DD-3 is a basic delay. nice sounding. AD-9 and the EHX are better sounding and it's analog. you can get more features out of the dd-6 and the dl-4.

Well I'd like the geatures which is why the Echo Park appealed to me.

My only experience with delay is on my micro cube, which isn't labeled, so I don'y know what is too short or too long. I liked the Digidelay because of the 4 second delay, but thinking about ti, that seems like a lot. I need stuff for like Welcome to the Jungle is one song I'll be needing it for. Also, for the few who are familiar with them, Last Scene by Asian Kung-Fu Generation.

Here it is for those that aren't familiar with it. As you know, these are a lot less than 4 secs. So I don't know what I'd need.

Not really.

Like I would of course, but not into making it as my first pedal and possibly wasting the money if I mess up or whatever, then I'd have to buy a delay and wasted the money. The chances of that are small with instructions and all, but I'm not a very handy capable guy....

^ahhh. okay. well, i've heard great about the EHX DMM, but it would be way out of budget, and i can't recommend them yet since i haven't encountered them at all.

my BYOC is modeled from some Boss Delay unit, and i think it's pretty transparent. putting it inside an effects loop or after a buffer might improve the bypass.

I've read reviews on the Echo Park saying it's noisy if you chain it, which I intended to do with it. THat means I
d have to have my 1spot, BCB-60, and Echo Park all seperate plugs, plus map that's 4 plug spaces.

I'm open to ANY suggestions.

awesome

The #1 does NOT self oscillate, and you have to use the power supply it came with (9.6V)

line 6 dl4 it HAS to be!

True. Best digital delay I've ever played, beat the crap out of the DD6 I owned, so I assume it would be better than the DD20 too.

If you can't afford the DL4 I expect the Echo Park would be in a similar vein.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

no you can't, but you can do what i do. I have all of my pedals except the #1 connected to a 1Spot, and that and the adaptor for the #1 are plugged into a power strip (note-the photo below is a little outdated, i've got an 8 chain connector now instead of 5)
