Hey guys,

Do you know where I could get high quality tone woods? I was thinking about maybe Home Depot, but then I thought that they would only have wood for building stuff where knots don't matter and that sort of thing. Would I have to go to a specialty shop or what?

Thanks

Ooh. Hmmm well what I did (I live in VA) I went around to a lot of old barns, and places like that asking for wood. I found some really nice ash and mahogany. Try somehting like that maybe.

Well I don't really live near any barns seeing as I live in a suburb of Atlanta. I'm sure there are stores though. Do you think that furniture stores might have something? Scraps or something maybe?

Hmmm it would need to be a big scrap. But yeah, furniture places might have it. I'm trying to think where you could get nice wood. Are you looking for any specific kind?

I am looking for mahogany. I want it to be a perfect piece though. Ya' know? Hand picked with no knots and a perfect grain and everything. I'll just see if there are any wood shops around here, but I have never heard of one before. I don't know. Thanks though.

Lumber yards. That's where I get everything. I've made friends with the manager there, and he always finds me the best pieces.
Sincerely, Chad.
