What is a good distortion pedal because my amp has like no distortion (peavy rage 158 or 258 or something like that). Try to keep it fairly inexspensive like 100$

Boss Metal Zone or Boss Mega Distortion. I played the metal zone before its good, but I've never heard the Mega Distortion but I heard its good.

Boss distortion is the worst choice. Save up more for a boutique pedal like sansamp gt-2

Naw, not biased - even though more major artists than we can all collectivly count use the DS-1. He has a price range of $100 - considering what styles he plays, I suggested the DS-1. That does not make me tone-deaf or biased. Apparently, someone pissed in your Wheaties this morning, pal!

I know that many of you guys think it sucks, but personally I like it... Digitech DDM Death Metal. Works for all kinds of metal.

MXR distortion+ is supposed to be ok although i've never tried it. Personally i hate the metal muff although most people love it. Really the best thing you can do is go out and try every pedal you can get your hands on and see which one suits you best
