I got my first guitar in May
When my dad went to get it the people there asked about me
My dad said i was a 14 year old boy
& that i have played before
He brought me an Electric guitar and amp
The Electric guitar is the Peavey: Predator EXP
The amp was a small Ibanez one i think a 15R (i dont even know if thats the type or somethin, it just has it on the box. I dont kno these things cause im still a beginner and slighty dumb =])
Well i was wondering if it made a big difference if a started with that guitar and amp instead of a different one
Like maybe there are starter one or something

PS To this day i only know like 3 chords
I havent been good to the guitar
But im trying now!

No. It doesn't make a difference. However, since your dad paid more money, it should (theoretically) result in a greater incentive to practice. Paying more for a guitar goes both ways: you'll either practice harder to get your money's worth, or you'll quit early and waste all that cash.

It all depends on what you put into it.
Sincerely, Chad.

nice gear = more time spent playing = want more gear = play even more

That's a dangerous assumption. I've seen rich kids from the hills get frustrated and let their Martin D-15 sit in the corner of the room collecting dust. It happens all the time. That's exactly how I got a free Fender Precision bass. I just asked for it: "Go ahead man. I'm not using it."

So? Just stick with it. Put time and effort into that equipment you have. Don't be discouraged. Everyone starts off slow. Hell, when I first started playing, I must've played the intro to I'm So Glad by Cream 10,000 times before I got it right. It takes time and effort. There's no getting around it.

And for the record, I'm an 18 year old who's only been playing for five or six years. You pick up speed as you go along. Even Eric Clapton had trouble with guitar when he first started playing, nearly giving up because it was so difficult. Charlie Parker was kicked out of the band in school because he was so terrible at saxophone. It's all practice.
Sincerely, Chad.

I kinda gathered your sex from your username.

I'd have a sit-down with your dad and make sure he isn't dipping into the liquor cabinet too much.
Sincerely, Chad.
