I got tips! I was told to get a Solid soundboard (top) and try for solid body but the body didnt matter as much as the top.

Anyways my parents are buying me a guitar of my choice for 200$.. ( ya not to much to work with, but its free for me. so what can i say? ) I told them for an electric it would be not enough for a decent one, so they said about an accoustic?

I found this, the solid top, rosewood fretboard. im used to it..
Crap?

Also, are Vintage VS6's any good? they look like an immitator brand of the SG.

If it works for you, why go looking for bad information about it? Just enjoy it.

Is it really important that it be acoustic-electric? Your $200 will get a better sounding guitar if you can live with a non-electric one.

+1...Cheap guitars w/ electronics are usually of very low quality. If you have to just get an acoustic now and if you really like it get electronics put in it later.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one that clicked this thread thinking I would learn how to make my guitar sound like a grizzly bear.

I've played that at my local music store, and it was very nice for the quality. A little quite, and a bit mid heavy, but fore the price its pretty nice. I'd give it a try.

dude mitchell gutiars are insanely good for the price. i used to besmitten with the mitchell12 string, but if its the 6 string you want i hear it's fantastic for the price. check around for other guitars though, i just know since mitchell is pretty unheard-of they have great quality guitars for the price.

yeah i have no idea what theyre like.
but I'd still say at that price your best choice would be something like a Yamaha FG700S with a soundhole pickup or another type of aftermarket pickup. Because, at that price, the electronics are usually crap, and the guitar wont be as good cos theyre spending money on the electronics.
If you don't actually need to be able to plug in, i would advise against buying an acoustic electric at this price range. And you will find that most people who say they want one dont actually need to plug in, and therefore dont ever plug in.

And your correct, the solid top is VERY important, back and sides not so much, in this price range your not going to get anything all solid
