It wasn't Chile it was cold as hell
It wasn't Chile it was cold as hell
And this story shalt never be telled
To the children of the North,
the children of the free and promised land

Of the fathers who started this plan
The annihilation of 3,000 brown eyed mans
And the fat politicians of americaland
Shed not one tear for the land or the man
And Santiago Stadium still stands

1973 the day that will live in infamy
For the people of the South, the people of the sun you see
Victor Jara spoke in whispers in the evening,
and in the day the people would hear him play
He was said to be a shooting star with a gentle heart,
he had rough hands and broken heart for his land
El derecho de vivir en paz was all he wanted
was the right to live in peace
El derecho de vivir en paz was all he wanted
was the right to live in peace

They took him by his hands,
5,000 of his fellow men,
They slaughtered and killed,
3,000 of them
They took him by his hands,
(not sure what to put here)
