Well people, I am stuck... I am going to be purchasing a new guitar soon and I am not sure what to get. The style I play is mainly metal. My price range is up to $1100. Any ideas?

It kind of bugs me seeing a Gibson being played for metal.

It just doesn't fit for some reason.

get something with a fast neck, I personally like Ibanez' necks. very smooth and fast.

I'm planning on getting an RG. they have a $300 one that I love the finish on. I'm going to put a set of SD Blackouts, full set-up and locking tuners. it doesn't have a trem, which I prefer for tuning situations.

I can afford anything I really want, but I think that will suit me well. I don't want to splurge over a grand on a Ibanez Prestige guitar and then spend more money getting the electronics in it that I want.

so it's all personal preference. some will say Jacksons rule the metal world. I'm not a fan of them. I don't like thier style. it's like they're trying to hard to look cool.

ESP's, Jackson's, Scheceters, Ibanez's, Edwards.

Don't get a liscensed floyd rose unless its made by Jackson, and only in their higher end guitars. I've heard they make good ones.

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.
