Well, that video about some guy talking fast should disprove all theories on rappers having no talent.

Why would I want to do that?

Sorry i am sick of close minded people on this site with their "92% of teenagers listen to rap, congrats if your 8% that listens to rap" crap.

If you do this.

I'll do that

Wow i bow down at your ignorance. It is not a competition. I am proving that rap does require talent and i never did say that other music doesn't require talent.

Whilst I agree that beneath a lot of the **** in contemporary rap music there are some very talented individuals I fail to see how a solitary bloke talking at an ludicrously fast speed proves once and for all that rap on the whole is at the same level as the guy in the video.

Not that anyone would want to listen to that to start with.

It's alright, just let the close minded people think that. Making fun of them doesn't make you any better now does it.

It is a rap (to a certain degree). That style of singing is used in rap songs so i regard it as appropriate.
#15
when i first listened, i thought it was the commentator that was doing it, he could be in with a shot of the record too
#17
your video proves that he can talk fast. thats all. I can put a video of the word's faster auctioneer on here. Would you agree he has musical talent as well then?

It depends if you say that was rapping or talking. It didn't specify in the video if it was talking or rapping.

Yeah, he's RIDICULOUSLY good.

One of those clips on that video, Stamina, has blast beats lol

Wow dude. That totally changes my mind about rap.

You see, I thought it was just a pile of shit but, as it turns out, being able to speak really fast == musical talent.

You kids kill me.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

He's like the Yngwie Malmsteen of rap.

Actually, it just sounds like he's speaking in tongues.

Well I don't, hence why I don't think talking fast = musical talent.

That tehcn9ne or whatever it was called was alright, but nothing I'd listen to normally.

I only listen to ol' school Dr. Dre.

I think a better justifier of vocal skills of rap, besides the guy in the initial post, is rappers that consistently perform at a REALLY high level, such as Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, and Bone Thugs n Harmony.

All of them are lyrically genius, and the Tecca Nina is my favorite rapper; he's BRILLIANT.

So is rapping fast musical talent?

No, that's not what he said. You're just reinforcing his statement by using another example. Being able to shred insanely fast doesn't necessarily constitute musical talent. You're right. So why would being able to rap really fast be any different? Neither = musical talent.

Oh, no, I would never ever presume to question the awesome, almost limitless talent that goes into "rapping".

As a matter of fact, I'm gonna sell my guitars on EBay, buy one of those DJ disk scratching things, whatever the fuck they're called, and work on my sps (syllables per second).

If used in the right context, it works, but saying that rapping fast is musical talent is ludicrous.
