Hey ummm first thread =)
But anyway right i have a Dean Baby ML and i couldnt be more happier with it but although the sound is great, I am looking for a more metal/deathcore sort of sound (slipknot, bring me the horizon etc.) and I was looking at pickups but i have like no idea what half the info means, or what good and whats not so i was wondering could anyone reconmend any pickups for that sort of sound or simular.......cheers :-)

P.s. preferably not active but i dont mind and £70 or lower thats about $144 (i think) and humbuckers aswell...

Here are a few i can think of:

Seymour Duncan Distortion, Blackouts (active), Live Wires (active), Dimebucker
Bareknuckle Warpigs, Miracle Mans
EMG 81 (active)

edit: maybe get a good distortion pedal instead as it would probably give you a more noticeable change in tone, for example an Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff or a Boss or Digitech or something.

the dimarzio X2N, one of the highest output pickups you can get

^^ Pretty much says it all. Although you'll be hard pressed to find brand-spankin' new p/ups for $70 or less. Check eBay.

First things first, what amp do you have.

Second thing....is your typing very small, or very far away?

You can just type without the size commands and it'll be all good.

Don't buy new pickups; save up for a new amp.

Upgrade that amp or you will notice very little difference from a pickup swap.

Not the most misguided post I've seen but... I take it you're new here.

lol. slash got a bad padawan.

people here don't know about Bare Knuckles and Rockfields and they just tell people how good the cheap mass produced pickups are. some are good. but they're not the best and i would never put my hands down to an EMG or Seymour Duncan for metal. Bare Knuckle can melt those two with their war pigs.

^True, but the TS is on a pretty tight budget. I'd suggest having a look at Swineshead pickups-they're great handmade pickups, and exceptionally good value-for-money.

Some Rock Monkey pickups are actually a little cheaper because CorduroyEW will give you a discount from being on UG .

Pickups will make minimal difference through the Frontman, it's in no way shape or form a metal amp and that's your problem, not your pickups. Also there's no point going for actives with a little solid state amp, they simply can't do what they're supposed to do. Finally when you DO change pickups don't mix actives and passives, it's a wiring ballache and not worth the hassle.

Oh, and do not EVER buy a Line 6 Spider
