well they sound like butt, in all honesty.
for $350 you can do much better. Check out used Randall RG50TC or a roland Cube 60.

took the words from my mouth. The MG series sound REALLY bad...the only reason its worth anything is because of the brand name....

For 350 dollars, you can afford a nice tube amp and a nice distortion pedal with some money extra to get tone as good as zakks. Although many tone freaks here probably will shun me for this, look into the peavey valveking 212. Nice solid deal.

it's designed as a practise amp really, you wouldn't want to gig with it.
thats not to say you couldn't get a half decent sound out of it, if you took your time.
i've always thought the MGs aren't as bad as people make them out to be on here.

if your not gigging i suggest teh Cube 30 but if your gigging im gonna go with either the used randall or cube 60. i forgot i didnt find that out.

^ true they arent good gigging amps, they are decent practice amps but there are better for the price. thats why most people around here dont like them

windsor studio, maybe? im pretty sure its in that price range, and it's supposed to have rly good JCM 800-like distortion, just bad cleans. but metal/screamo usually doesn't need cleans, so...yea. not sure if its out yet though

Nope, I consider myself a Tone Freak and I think the Vks are great for the price! It sure as hell pisses all over anything Marshall makes in that price range....

That said though, I'd say go for the 112 and get a decent overdrive with it.
