I just picked up a new Jackson WRMG Warrior and I effing love it, but my next upgrade is for my amplifier.

I need a tube amp that has lots of gain for music kinda like August Burns Red, some pretty heavy metal. It needs to be able to use it to play crowds of 100-150 people.

Some options I've been told were used EVH 5150 or 6505, but I want to know what else is out there. Used gear is totally alright with me as well.

I might be able to pick up a 5150II head for $500, but then what would I do about a cab?

LMK what you all think.

A 30-50 watt combo amp would be loud enough, so dont go thinking that you need a half stack. Look at them peavey triple XXXs. Maybe you could find a used cab somewhere for cheap if you do get the 5150

I'm thinking of getting the 5150 Head and ordering up a B-52 480W cab.

I don't think the XXX is gainy enough, is it?
