And now for another "which amp" thread!

k, so lately I've been getting really sick of my crappy little $50 amp (I know, I know...shut up, I didn't know better at the time) and decided the next major purchase I'm making is going towards a new amp. Only problem is, I'm not too clear on what to get, plus, I don't have several thousands of dollars to throw around to get some 60 foot wall of marshall stacks :P so I come to the master minds of UG for help. suggestions?

It's so true though.
Get a peavey classic 50 used though. It's about 500 bucks or less, and with the extra cash, get new tubes (if the previous owner hadn't replaced them already), and a tubescreamer, and your set!

I play like metal and stuff, not too hardcore though, probably a mix of Megadeth and Rage Against the Machine (weird, I know, but that's the closest I could come to describing) and I use an Ibanez RG. I want something with a good overdrive channel that's not too noisy and a bit of versatility, so I guess cleans would be good too.
