So i have a college cultural fest coming up n so my band have decided to take part in it.
We are basically a hard rock, metal cover band (from creed to metallica). I am a rythm player, can't shred yet.
The problem i am facing is that my coll wont allow our lead guitarist to play due to his grades
So we have decided to go ahead w/o him (after pleading with the college). So i need songs which are not too hard and have only one guitar in it.

Cheers

maybe some of the easier led zeppelin stuff? although they often have moderately challenging solo's

if you also have a bass, you can play For Whom The Bell Tolls. That's what we tried out during band practise and it sounded pretty well.

Never heard of Seinfeld, what kind of music do they play? Assuming they use Kramers, it must be heavy!

Oh well, now the empty shell of what used to be chocolaty goodness can contain a tasty guitar circuit.

Smells Like Teen Spirit? It has 2 guitars but Nirvana always used 1 live.

how come no one has mentioned ACDC yet? i would think that would be obvious...even though they have two guitars you can easily, easily pull it off with only one

You could try some Muse stuff. Hysteria would be good if you can do the solo.

Symphony X or Dream Theater... >_>

Ok, ok, umm... How about Pantera! Although there's a lot of backing chords.
