the 2nd one is probably best for metal, but for a guitar that can play most genres go with the first one.

#2 has an edge III.

Instant lose.

I'd say #3, I hear ZR's are pretty good. That and H-H > H-S-S for metal.

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.

Edge IIIs are unfairly hated. The one I have on my Xiphos is great.

I had one on my old GRG170DX.

Never had a problem with it other than the fact that that god damned trem slipped more than anything I've ever seen.

I currently own an Ibanez RG2EX2 and B.C. Rich Avenge Son Of Beast.

Both of which come out of tune immediately if I bend more than a quarter step up. Pretty gross right there.

The 170DX came out of tune if I just pushed down on the strings too hard. It was that bad.

The edge has no grip whatsoever. If I even TOUCHED the whammy bar, goodbye. Every single string came at least a half step out of tune.
