I'm trying to make a sad sounding chord progression in G phrygian but I suck with chords so can anyone help me.

i love using the Imi7-bIIma7 somehow, the major chord a half step next to the root minor chord always gives a nice sound IMO

SOAD freak, the triads in phrygian are
i bII bIII vi vdim bVI bvii
In G phryg
Gm Ab Bb Cm Ddim Eb Fm

the 7th chords in phrygian are
im7 bIImaj7 bIII7 vim7 vm7b5 bVImaj7 bviim7
In G phryg
Gm7 Abmaj7 Bb7 Cm7 Dm7b5 Ebmaj7 Fm7

Pick chords from those that move and resolve how you want them too.

Only looking at music as math and theory, is like only looking at the love of your life as flesh and bone.

Swinging to the rhythm of the New World Order,
Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums
