Got myself a Stick! It's an old ironwood 10-string (classic tuning) from 1982. I have not played it too much, but I recorded a couple of improv noodles I did after playing it a few times. They're both here:

i'm not really quite sure what a "stick" is, but it sounds pretty wild. the improv is good, follows the chords well. I really like the backing part a lot.

I too, don't know what a stick is, but from what I heard, It was pretty good. I liked "Stick Doodle 2" better, but the bass notes were pretty hard to hear.

This song is about Little Red Riding Hood and her trials and tribulations with the Big Bad Wolf. He was a cunt who liked to bother pigs when they relaxed after work in their houses.

There is no backing part, it's all played simultaneously.

You can see what a Stick is here:

You learn. Slowly. It's got fret markers like a guitar. The melody side is tuned in 4ths and the bass side is tuned in fifths and strung inverted with the lowest string in the middle instead of on the outside edge of the instrument. It's a bit of a monster. No strumming or picking, it's all tapping.
