But yeah its basically what the title says, how would I figure out and change the key of a song?

You could find a common chord in the two keys and use it as a pivot

Use chords I, IV and V, of a key, and if you can match them to a peice of music at any given time, chances are you're in that key at that time.

A good tip is to use the dominant or dominant 7th chord of the new key as the pivot. This creates the perfect cadence that sounds content.
