Which amp best for playing Thrash Metal I prefer a combo amp just for easier storage/movement and I live in a unit, I have the choice of 3 amps I've seen recently, a Marshall MG100DFX , Randall RG75-G2 , Laney HCM30.
My budget is around the $400-500 mark.

Which amp would provide the best Slayer, Metallica, Exodus sound ?

All help appreciated and suggestions welcomed.

I dunno about amps but i know the Metal Monster pedal gives enough gain for a thrashy scooped sound, but it is a bit on the expensive side ($200)

and if you get the pedal DO NOT get a MG, they do not take pedals very well.

Peavey Windsor is modeled after the JCM800, perfect, it's right in your price range, and you could get yourself a good 2x12 cab as well

I'm sort of leaning towards the Randall I've heard some good things, especially the distortion/chunky Metallica,Pantera,Slayer sounds it suppose to produce.

I'd say Randall, havent heard any of em though but STAY AWAY FROM THE MG.

MG = monkey genitals.

Great list Rutch. On re-reading this one I'd have to say Solid State means not liquid or gas.

I figured it out.
