On the Boss website it states you can connect the BOSS GT8 straight in to a PA system to get a sound. And i seen it happen,it works so no problem there.

But if that works would you be able to connect the GT8 straight in to like a 4X10 cab or 2X12 can and get sound.
I don't see why this won't be able to work.

as far as i know, when you plug it into a mixer, it amplifies the signal enough to drive the pa speakers.

the pedal itself most likely can't put out enough power to drive a speaker cab on it's own. it needs a pre/poweramp of some sort.

the pedal needs some kind of power amp to drive the sound.

So yeah straight into a pa it would work since the pa has a power amp(s), but the pedal will not drive an amp since it does not put out any wattage
