Most strings are metal. Avoid nylon strings.

I currently use Ernie Ball beefy strings (.12-.54) tuned to C standard, and they sound pretty good.

I personally prefer D'addario for basically everything.

If you're playing in standard most of the time then 9's should be great. Easy to play easy to bend and still sound good.

If you're playing some down tuned metal or something like then go for 10-52 gauge

i like ernie ball basically because i'm too broke to try something else, but for sure don't get Fender strings they always lose their tone in like 2 weeks

I actually like the warm, smooth tone they get after they oxidize..
