What the Best guitar magizine as far as Reviews, new gear, guitarist interviews, up and coming stars, etc. I'm looking more for a good read as aposed to lessons and such, thanks.

Guitarist magazine has the most reviews, and gear I've seen. And the pages are way colourful and glossy. They have acoustic, blues to jazz, rock and other song/lesson sections.

first off, never trust reviews in guitar mags, but if you just wan't to read about guitarists and crap I'd go with guitar world.

Guitarist has a lot of articles about gear and stuff, but I personally prefer Guitar Techniques because of the amount of lessons and tips.

Total Guitar is pretty good, but don't go by what's on the front cover. In October's issue they advertised Metallica on the cover, like they were going to be a big feature, but in the whole magazine the only mention of them was a tiny picture of James next to a sentence that said something about a swedish magazine voting Metallica as the best summer concert above the Stonesand Ozzy Osbourne.

Such trickery.

I reckon that Total Guitar is more on the things that are 'cool' and rarely look at interesting things.

Where do you buy it from (guitarist techniques)? Or do you subscribe?

I ask because I've had trouble finding it even in large WH Smith's and so on - it's a very specialised magazine, though I can imagine it's good because guitarist is good. I might subscribe to guitarist techniques tbh.

Well considering Guitar World sucks and only has a few crappy lessons with ****ty guitar players, go with that. If you want a real guitar magazine get Guitar Player.

I already take guitar lessons and don't learn very well from just reading it I need a teacher. So I'm just looking more for a good read.....

Dude, if a title read "penis pics, come on in" I think about 93% of UG would still click on it.

Nonsense. I'm telling you, nothing makes the fairer sex swoon like an extensive knowledge of siege weaponry and medieval battle tactics.

I like Guitarist, but if I can't find it, I get Total Guitar instead.

total guitar > guitar world and guitar techniques combined

Fail.

As said above, i wouldn't trust gear reviews in guitar mags, Total Guitar reviews being a great example, absolutely awful.

As far as the rest of the requirements go, since you're in the US I'd look at Guitar Player, if i can get others opinions on it.
I've only bought one issue, and it was great start to finish (The one with John Petrucci, Marty Friedman interviews etc.)
