I don't care what computer everyone else uses. I know mine is better, but I see no reason to argue about it.

Mac = no games, no viruses + stabler
Windows = games, viruses + not always so stable

There.
#7
Macs are way better, I have a PC and my teacher has a Mac Book. The Mac's awesome, all the crap it can do.
#8
For the record, it has games. Secondly, it can run windows. Including games. For Windows.

why do people have to be so divided over such a small thing, people lets just come together in peace working macs and pcs in unison, harmoniously, and together.

Yeah, but only complete idiots are dumb enough to get it.

You have to be searching for pr0n, and then something pops up asking you to let it install on your computer. Excuse me? I don't think so. That stuff is to easy to access, albeit free, what idiot would let a codec install so you can watch some girl on goat action.

Just use your head.

I wouldn't mind owning a MAC. I heard they have awesome recording software.

Yeah, thats why the "anti virus" community make so little money, and why their products are hardly used, glad to know the entire computer owning community has the sense to cancle stuff which it tells you is being installed, shame about the stuff you don't see get installed.

That's how it is for both PC's and Mac's, I have never been infected with anything significant. I'll never understand why the general conception is that PC's are always loaded with viruses and Mac's rarely are... IT'S ALL IN HOW YOU USE THEM.

People are now going to say what is out there for windows.

But aside from that, you're right. It's TONS easier to upgrade PCs on your own. That's a downside for a lot of people. But you're also right, it does come with awesome software. Garageband. Search it up, there's a website where tons of people upload what they've done and you can check it out. It's pretty cool.

One of the greatest things of Macs is their tight software/hardware integration.

Whoa guys, calm down. I was explaining what that specific malware was about. Calm down.

And you all are right when you say that it is the same for both, you just have to be careful, and be smart.

Personally, I have a personal refulsal to touch anything to do with Apple. PC's are irritating on odd occaisons, but 99.9% of the time, they're solid, and aye, the hardware is a lot more versatile, as is a lot of the software. MAC's, I've used em at odd points & they're a fashion statement in computer form to me. Look pretty, but you try & get something done & it's a damn hard graft.

You know what I hate? When people associate PCs with Windows.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

They do that for lots of reasons.

"I'm a mac." "And I'm a PC"

People associate PCs not being Macs, and therefore running windows.

They both seem the same, more or less to me, except Apple computers seem to have annoying symbols bouncing across the bottom of the screen.

Defend our computers? Against what? Viruses? If I had a Mac, I wouldn't need to.

Why would I defend my damn PC? Because it's mine? No, I'm not that stupid. It's a matter of preference, and if I could afford a Mac, I'd buy a Les Paul. No question.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

I was a PC(windows) guy from since I started using computers to about 4 months ago. Honestly, if Macs had the same native ability to play games like windows does, I could safely say that I would never buy a PC again. Granted, I plan to buy an external hard drive and mount windows on that using either Bootcamp or Parallels, so games aren't going to be an issue. I think the Mac GUI makes so much more sense than the windows GUI. You honestly have to try to crash a Mac, where as on a PC you can crash it using software that came on the PC. The only thing I miss about my PC is the upgradeability of the hardware.

Also, I think Vista is a waste of RAM. You shouldn't need 512 MB of RAM to use the operating system.

I love how the thread title is Mac VS PC wars. As if all those other PC/Mac debates go down politely, logically and cleverly.

The only thing I miss about my PC is the upgradeability of the hardware.

You can upgrade a Mac's hardware, quite similarly to how you can a laptop .

first is i realize you can dual boot for the extra buck but that is alot of money. when you can get a better pc for the buck. Mac has no good games that are just for mac they have some pretty useful apps such as garage band. I'm not saying their useless more or less are the worth it?

Mac. Why? Because you can also dual boot Windows if you need it for games or even Linux if you need it. Hell if you want to run Windows games, you don't even need to dual boot. Just get that neat software a friend of mine found called Crossover and you can run .exe files on Mac. So in one of our classes where our teacher doesn't care what we do, we do Counter-Strike: Source LANs in class. I win.
