Hey im looking into buying one of the line 6 toneports

Im just going to be recording guitar, no singing.

Its either the cheapest one or the next one up.

But whats the difference and is it worth the price?

What are you going to be recording?

I'm pretty sure the GX is guitar only.

The UX1 has a mic input (although it isn't phantom powered, so you could only use dynamic mics with it).

I have UX2. It's pretty decent.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

Then get a GX.

...Doesn't your Spider 2 have some form of output that goes into the computer?

You might want the UX1 then, so you can use it to mic up your amp as an input later on.
