Man, never seen a pignose recommended here actually, I have never even seen one while I was looking for my new stuff. Seems like a good deal for such a high wattage tube.

Epiphone Valve Junior or Roland Cube for amp, and if you can afford a Epiphone Les Paul Standard, Epiphone G-400, Fender Standard Stratocaster with a Humbucker, then do so.

Yeah, I would go with a Fender MIM strat for that style of play. But you might want to test it out first, see if you like the feel. I personally don't care for the feel of the boards/necks on the strats I've tried, maybe I have just been unlucky though.
