I just finished the upgrade to my Samick Malibu. I think it turned out pretty good.
It went from this...

to this...

I replaced all the electronics and completely shielded it. I put in a Duncan JB and 2 DiMarzio Blue Velvet single coils.

if you want to read more about it and see more pictures, they are all here...

I'm interested in hearing what you all think.

Thanks,

Wow, tough crowd!

I replaced all the electronics and wiring, and completely shielded the inside.

I didn't change the appearance much but, trust me, it's a completely different guitar now.

Maybe when I get a little more experience, and another guitar for backup, I'll take a shot at a woodworking/painting project.

Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.

I like it, clean simple, all the modifications are tasteful and purposfull. There are NO stupid stickers or graphics..... Therefore sir, you get the ErosThanatos seal of approval. Cudos!

You did a nice job on shielding. As much as I love Fenders I have to say the 60 cycle sucks. You just took most of that away.
