When rewiring inside of a guitar, what's the best kind of wire to use. I know being insulated is important, but aside from that I'm not sure what to go with. Any info or links to examples of suitable material would be appreciated. Thanks!

22 gauge multi stranded wire is perfect, although almost any wire will work fine.

What's different about screened wire exactly?

There is a "screen" around the signal wire that reduces the noise very much.
The screen is supposed to be grounded (connect ONE end to ground).
