I'm trying to make a schedule but I have a hard time making one. I have 2 hours each day from Sunday-Wednesday, and on Thursday-Saturday I can practice longer. I want to know what I should practice to be able to make a rock song/improvise. Should also include other theory not just scales if needed. Should also have something to develop picking technique.

Also, does anyone know of a good practice for alternate picking?

alt. pick- just go chromatically 3-5 notes per string and work your way down then up the strings, and then move your hand up a fret and repeat.
practice scales and commit them to memory. Know what scales you can play over different chord progressions and such.
