I have never had to retube my amp before but now i think its in desperate need. When i play on channel 2 of my DR it is insanely muddy, and noisy. my buddy has the same amp with the same tubes and his seems to sound tons better. what is the problem with my amp?

Probably something more severe, or maybe you just have a really bad EQ
I would take it to a guitar tech first though.

yeah take it to the store, are you using instrument cables and speaker cables in the right places?

I compared my settings to my friends and everything is the same down to the knobs dialed in. are there any DR owners on here who could offer me some advice on settings? really dont understand much about the knobs on the back. i have my loop bypassed and my footswitch on. My head is connected at 4 ohms to my cabs 8 ohm input set to mono. My rectifier is set to the Silicon Diodes and the power switch is set to spongy

i'd take it to a tech tbh, and your impedances should match - either your head should be at 8 ohms or your cab at 4.
