Hey i have had my guitar for almost 3 months now (Hagstrom F-200) and its got stock strings i think their either 8 or 9s (how can you tell?) on it and i really want to try out a higher gauge would i need to send it to a shop and have them do truss rod adjustments and stuff or can i do this myself.

And what gauge do u guys use?

thanks

...If you're going from 9's to 10's, you won't have to have anything adjusted, but you might want to check your intonation once you get it strung up. Oh, and I use 11's on my Iommi, and I think I have a set of 10's on the other old SG.
