is emo and pop/punk in one forum? emo is almost the opposite to pop/punk since it is a sub genre of hardcore punk....just wondering why they chose to put the two together

Perhaps they are judging by today's standards for "Emo" music?

Such as Fall Out Boy?

Hey, if the the vastly superior and totally different Progressive bands are stuck with the Shred and 80s, Pop-punk can live with Emo

but the thing is that they're not emo, they're pop/punk...people say that emo evolved into today's standard but emo died ine the 90s and 10 years after, some guys stated to play pop/punk and some kids that didn't **** about music started to call it emo...i guess they didn't want to use pop/punk cuz people know its gay, but anyways...i was just wondering why they chose to put them together

like the other guys said. by today's standards, they pretty much are the exact same music.
