A fretless Jazz bass? Are you upgrading or buying your first bass?

In any case, a Fender Jazz bass would definitely be better than the OLP; higher quality control and reliable.

The OLP is fine for a beginner bass, but if you're willing to spend enough to get a Fender Standard series, definitely go for the Fender.

Make sure to play anything before you buy, just to make sure you like it.

What the fuck man?

Anyway, threadstarter, if there was ever a time to use the phrase apples and oranges it would be now. I mean, you posted one fretted bass and one fretless. One has a humbucker at the bridge, and one has two single coils. One is basswood, the other alder. One is $500 the other is $250. There aren't two basses that have that many differences I can think of off the top of my head. Your question is impossible to answer.
