Hi all,

I am wondering what's the difference between a good guitar and a not-so-good guitar. Personally, i have one around the price range of 25 USD, and I am planning to purchase a new one that is around 400 USD. I want to know what difference will it make.

Thanks!

A good guitar sounds nice and plays well, two things that your present guitar most likely lack. You want something with a solid top, which won't be a problem for your price range. Take a trip to your local guitar shop and play a bunch. You won't know what sounds good unless you play some guitars better than what you have now. The difference in sound and playability should be pretty obvious. Yamaha, Alvarez, Washburn and Epiphone make very good guitars around the $400 range.
