Hey I've been thinking recently about being a pilot and I wanted to get a headstart by reading some books or just learning about stuff I'll need to know but I don't know where to look or what any good books are....please help me out if you know. Thanks!

Microsoft flight simulator is really good, some kid was able to land a plane after playing that game.

whatever you do, don't duct tape cardboard wings to your arms and jump off the garage.

I thought this thread was going to be about learning to fly for real, like not flying an airplane : (

I know someone who wants to become a pilot. If he gets on tonight I'll ask him for some things.

i also know a guy who's becoming a pilot. i dont talk to him anymore, but he needs all kinds of physics courses in high school. same might apply to you, dunno how old you are though

don't you have to have like perfect vision? all i know is that i was watching this movie, Little Miss Sunshine (my sisters idea, not mine), and the brother wanted to be a pilot, and he figured out he had colour-blindness and he couldn't

that's a kickass movie, no need to be ashamed lol. my cousin wanted to be a paratrooper, but he's colorblind, so he couldn't get into that. the reason for it was he couldn't use night vision though.

apparently, most pilots start out in the armed forces. it's a logical place to get proper training and practice...although commercial planes are very different. well actually you didn't specify, do you want to be in the Air Force or a commercial pilot?

i thought this was about tom petty

My mind is going. I can feel it.

If you want something realistic, do not buy that M$ product.

Trust me, buy this X-Plane by far beats M$'s flight sim.

I would like to be a commercial pilot but at the same time it'd be cool to fly jets too....I know it'd be hard and **** and I graduated highschool last year and took a year off before doing anything. I have thought about the Air Force and Navy and about just going to flight school but I really am lost as to which option would be the best....any suggestions are welcome. Thanks everyone.
