Okay so here we go:

I have a Super Distortion in the bridge position of my guitar. I'm getting a new amp which should improve the sound of it, but i'm looking for a cleaner sound for leads (like sweeping and stuff), like as in it sounds more articulated. I play mainly power metal and melodic death metal, and i can get the pickup for cheap so money isnt a problem. it is whether i shoulud get it or not.

I'm also open to other ideas/suggestions. All Comments welcome.

Thanks,

Matt

well the tonezones will be more articulate, but if you're sweeping or shredding or whatever the evolutions beat the tonezones

they also are really expensive...not my cup of tea. BUt yeh, if I can find a good deal on one i'd get it, my asian brother from another mother Herman Li uses one haha.

Btw my guitar has a basswood body..

Evo's are not my favorite for sweeping, they pick up everything. Unless you have PERFECT technique it will sound really sloppy.

does the tone zone have good pinched harmonics? i love those...i sometimes play like zakk wylde lol...just not all the time.

I also like to do dive bombs a lot and such, so does overall the tonezone have good harmonic capabilities?

eh but like how do they sound? have you played them?

the thing is that not many people use them, so I can't tell if they would be rite...i'd have to just try them on my axe to find out.

I don't know...should I just stick with my Super Distortion?

I've never played them, I just used dimarzio's pickup selector program to check it out. I do however have Super Distortions in one of my guitars and love em.

For sweeping you should probably be using the neck pickup but if you want to use the bridge and need a nice sound try out the Breed or the D Activator.

^ All it takes is the flip of the pickup selector switch. It's not that difficult.

lol alrite. is the PAF Pro a good neck pickup for sweeping? or the Air Norton

I have an Air Norton in the neck slot of my Jackson,,,and it is incredibly smooth for sweeping and such,,the only real downfall of the pickup is that it doesnt have a whole lot of dynamic contrast,,,but if you are mostly doing sweeping type stuff,,,that could be a very good thing.
