I wouldn't recommend the low end LTDs.

Yeah mate, you dont want one of them as your first electric guitar. I think i might be correct in saying go for one of the ibanez starter electrics as they're one of the best cheap electrics or first electrics. In time you'll upgrade i imagine, but perhaps not as soon as with the LTD..

Then what guitar should be best around 350-400 dollars.......

Well, you could look at the Ibanez RG321.

The main issue with lower end RG's, like with pretty much all lower end guitars, is the double locking trem.

However the 321 is a hardtail, so that problem is solved. Also, in that price range, you could look at MIM Fender (if you live in the USA that is), the Washburn X 50 Pro might be whithin reach and you could always go for something Epiphone.

The Ibanez RG3EX1QM1:

This is a fancier version of the RG321.

The Fender standard Stratocaster HSS:

Standard MIM strat, but with a bridge humbucker; this is at the top end of your budget, but it's a great instrument.

The Washburn N2:

Granted, it's slightly over budget, but with a good setup this guitar has great value for money.

Thanks for your Reply i will surely check IBANEZ.....but i have left with two choices in my budget when Epiphone Electrics are Guitar are concerned.

Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar
&
Epiphone Les Paul LP100 Electric Guitar

Because these are the only two available now.

You could go for that one.

Also, if you want a Les Paul style guitar, Michael Kelly may be worth a look.

N.B. Keep in mind I'm writing this with the idea that you live in the US.
