Hm, okay, lets try..

The amps used by Brian May were Vox AC30's, though near the end he used John Decons "Decy" amp. The guitar tracks were layered an insane amount of times for a "thick" sound.

The guitar May used was his Red Special.

I did a quick search and got nothing that goes into more detail than the fact that they used a 24 track recorder.
