You're going to have to be more specific. Plug what into what? Your guitar? You don't have an amp?

Best is if you got a small PA, if not, any amp works, but the sound will not be very pleasant. Some Active speakers have got XLR inputs too, so you can plug one mic in directly, works for a small jam but for nothing else really.

usually a pa system, but keyboard amps and mic amps work fine for rehearsals. guitar/bass amps can sound a bit dodgy...

he meant like speakers that are powered i believe, not amps. if you cant afford a p.a., it hink a decent keyboard amp might work for jamming

Usually it works to just connect the mic to the PA, yes. From what I know the PA is the special amp for mics, doesn't matter if it's a miced-up amp or vocals...

Exactly.

But you can plug it into the roland, just won't sound that good, and you can't use your guitar through it anymore. At the same time that is.

amps are always active, you dont need an amp to power an amp do you?

Active and passive applies to speakers!
if you have passive speakers you need an amp to power them

buy a little mixer.. sm57 .. and a little pa :S

Hm, no. He needs a little mixer, a mic, speakers, and a Poweramp, in case the mixer and/or the speakers are not powered. And that all together is a small PA.
