is it possible to switch between the clean and the high-gain channel (on the engl) whereas on every of the two channel is a different preset (due to g-major)?

What do you mean? Do you want to switch both the amp channel and the Gmajor preset at the same time? I think you need a midi pedal for that, if you can control the fireball with midi.

You need a MIDI controller footswitch, I'm not sure if you can change the amp channels with a midi controller, I know if its a rack pre-amp you can but not sure with the head.

The G•Major can switch your amp channels.

You sure it can do it on the Fireball? If it can, then a midi pedal is all he needs, I guess.

You should make a thread. I'd be interested to see how many kiddies have all their stuff bought by mummy and daddy.

EDIT: It's a long shot, but if your fireball and g major have FX loops for each channel you could connect it up like that.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

well im a student and its kinda hard to get all that stuff, but working during hollidays helps a lot blessedly

btt: what do you mean by seperate fx loops?
the g-major has a midi in, through and out
and the fireball has a normal fx loop

sorry for my incompetence but i dont know anything about those things

Ah, nevermind. My amp has fx sends and returns for each channel aswell as the usual one, thought it was worth a try.

i have a fireball and i dont think there is anyway you can switch the channels without using the footswitch in a traditional manner. ill have to do some more thinking on the subject, but nothing strikes me off the top of my head.

I thought about that too, but maybe the footswitch sends commands you can send with a normal midi pedal?

i know this sounds really sarcastic, but im serious. move the foot switch and the gmajor close enough that you can step on it if you turn your foot sideways. i used to do that for a while.

yea, i think a midi pedal would do it.

BTW, how is the Fireball?

fireball is one awsome amp!!!
for metal i cant imagine anything better...but maybe i'll once get the engl blackmore for its more versatile....

btt: im really convused at the moment

a midi-pedal is a footswitch with different contuctors on it....an you can belay each of them with a different preset right?
and with the footswitch (Z4)you can switch between the clean and the heavey channel.....

well there must be an opportunity to switch the channel and the presets at the same time, if i connect the midi with the g-major and if the g-major can switch the channel on the amp...

ok just adepted that every preset on the g-major can be adjusted with the clean or the high gain channel from the fireball!!! (and i also managed to do that with a simple stereo cable from tha g-major to my amp)
so that wouldnt be the problem any more
now i just need a midipedal and belay 10 of my presets form the g-major to the pedals on the midi....-that should be no problem as well;
so i just need a good midi pedal and i was thinking of the Behringer Fcb1010

my g-major is able to switch the channels on my fireball!!!
it can switch between clean and high gain and also between vol. 1 (which is the volume for the clean channel) and vol. 2 (volume for high gain channel)

so yes you can!!!

anyone knows the Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Footcontroller?
is it any good?

^ Take a look at www.harmony-central.com/User_Reviews.
But dont take everyting as read, there are some reviews that are submitted by people who don't have a clue.

Why not go for a Z-4? or am I miss-understanding what you want to do?
