Hey everyone,

I wondered if anyone knew. In Ice 9 by Joe Satriani, how does he get that tone he makes from 1:36-1:53 on the 'Surfing With The Alien' release itself? It sounds awesome.

Thanks

I'm not sure about what part that is, but I do know he recorded one of his solos on that track through a Sony pocket amp or something like that to get a really smooth lead tone.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I thought maybe it was just scooped mids or something but there is something else for sure.

Aaaahhh,, that part!! It was the part before that that he used the pocket amp on, but yeah that sounds like a wah with the toe ever so slightly up, possibly into a Marshall amp.
